About the Event
The NASA International Space Apps Challenge is a global hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, builders, technologists, and space enthusiasts. In Lucerne, we'll be developing tech-driven apps focused on climate studies, space flight, and research conducted on the ISS.

We will be integrating and leveraging Machine Learning and AI into our apps, keeping technology at the forefront of what we do.

1. General Participation Conditions
1.1
The NASA Space Apps Challenge Lucerne 2025 is an international hackathon dedicated to innovation and the development of space-related solutions, open to individuals and teams from all fields, with a minimum age of 18 (or with parental consent).
1.2
Participation is free of charge. There are no costs or fees associated with registration, participation, or access to workshops and the main event.
1.3
Registrations are exclusively carried out through the official form available on the website spaceappschallenge.ch.
2. Intellectual Property
2.1
Each participant or team retains full and exclusive ownership rights over the projects and ideas developed during the event.
2.2
Participants grant organizers and partners a non-exclusive right to publicly disclose, promote, and share their projects for communication purposes, event promotion, and development of the global space innovation community.
2.3
No intellectual property rights will be transferred to organizers or third parties without express and subsequent agreement.
3. Use of Personal Data
3.1
Personal data collected during registration will be used solely for event management, institutional communication, and sending relevant information.
3.2
Data will not be shared with third parties not directly involved in organizing the event, except as required by law.
4. Responsibilities
4.1
Participants are responsible for the originality of their creations and must ensure they do not infringe third-party rights.
4.2
The organizers are not responsible for any disputes related to intellectual property between participants.
5. FAQ
Q: Who can participate?
A: Students, professionals, startups, researchers, and enthusiasts aged 18 or older (or with parental consent).
Q: Are there any costs to participate?
A: Participation is completely free of charge.
Q: Who owns the rights to the projects created?
A: Rights belong entirely to the teams or individuals who created them.
Q: Can organizers use the ideas for other purposes?
A: Only with the express permission of the authors; however, ideas may be publicly disclosed for event promotion and community development.
Q: Is there support for travel or accommodation?
A: Currently, we do not offer financial support for participants, but invited speakers and institutional partners may benefit from limited support.
